Post 5 What will I work on?

FUTURE WORK?  You ask me? Ah, yes, one of the reasons why I went back to study was thinking about my professional future, but more than a future job I hope to destroy my learning and open myself to other realities. I studied pedagogy in Spanish  in university in the eighties and I have worked for at least 8 years doing classes.

I worked in other areas first  and then work  for at least 8 years doing classes. However, when I finally took classes, I realized that I lacked tools and arguments in the face of a reality that was very difficult to face, that I had become intolerant of realities that were not expected. As a result of this I thought that I needed to learn again and that my professional training had lacked a lot because there was no academic freedom and you learned - you  taught with fear and prejudices.

It is likely that the current teaching in public universities is not so different from the one I experienced, there is fear and prejudice, however, I think the good thing is that the critical spirit is prioritized, at least in my current career, consequently, more than a future job I came to look for a university education more in line with different and diverse ways of existing.

For me studying social work is like a specialization and that is giving me another perspective to do classes although I hope, as well, that in the future I will be able to work as a social worker in a high school with a poor context, here in Chile and collaborate with the realization of the people who study there, with their happiness and mine.
